U.S. Figure Skating And Scott Hamilton Cares Foundation To Host Sk8 To Elimin8 - Skatefest In Anaheim

U.S. Figure Skating and the Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation have announced the first-ever Sk8 to Elimin8 SkateFest this Saturday, May 7 at 9 a.m. at Anaheim Ice in Anaheim, California. Held in conjunction with the May 7 Stars on Ice tour stop at Honda Center, the Sk8 to Elimin8 SkateFest will combine free lessons with fundraising components to benefit the Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation.


SkateFest participants will receive ice skate rentals and lessons from Anaheim Ice coaches and members of the Stars on Ice cast. SkateFest is free and open to the public; participants are encouraged to make a donation to the Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation at the door. Fundraising for the Scott Hamilton Foundation is also taking place in advance of the Sk8 to Elimin8 SkateFest. Stars on Ice cast members and Olympic champions Meryl Davis and Charlie White, World silver medalist Ashley Wagner and U.S. champion Adam Rippon are expected to attend (subject to change). Local media may shoot footage of the event and interviews with athletes, participants and coaches. Davis and White, Wagner and Rippon will be available for interviews prior to SkateFest from 8:30-9 a.m.
